ROCK POINT ELECTRICAL SOLUTIONS Ltd


1.         Installation Work:

  1. All electrical installation work will comply with BS7671 (as year issued) and any amendments in force at the time of the works.

  2. ROCK POINT ELECTRICAL SOLUTIONS Ltd will comply with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 (as amended) whilst conducting works.

  3. All electrical installation work will comply with applicable Building Regulations in force at the time of the works.

  4. Electrical work may involve the de-energisation of the circuit being worked on, and potentially the entire installation to facilitate works. Permission will be sought before any de-energisation takes place.

  5. Where work is to extend or modify existing circuits, costs quoted assume that the existing installation is in adequate condition and complies with minimum current regulations. Any works found required to bring the necessary parts of the existing installation up to standard will be at additional cost.

  6. Unless stated otherwise, all cables will be concealed by chasing into the building fabric or concealed in building voids, under floors, etc. Where impracticable, cabling will be neatly surface run, either clipping direct or housed in trunking / conduit.

  7. Where carpet or flooring coverings may require lifting to allow concealed installation work, no charge is made for this service, with best endeavours being made to avoid damaging them and to refit them to an acceptable standard. However, consideration of employing a specialist fitter may be prudent, at your cost to effect a fully satisfactory reinstatement.

  8. Where agreed before hand, chases to walls, etc will be re-filled to 2mm below plaster finish depth, however final finishing of skim coat plaster and final decoration is excluded.

  9. All endeavours will be made to undertake installation work to a clean standard, using dust sheets and vacuum cleaning equipment as necessary. Any equipment susceptible to damage from dust (eg media, video or computer equipment) must be removed from the work area prior to ROCK POINT ELECTRICAL SOLUTIONS Ltd arrival.

  10. PAYG meters must have enough credit to conduct the works and testing.

  11. New Consumer Units/Distribution Boards: Installation of a new consumer unit or distribution board, is subject to the whole installation being tested to ensure it is safe to be changed. The cost of this is included in the overall quote. Any faults found during the above testing which are deemed unsafe, must be rectified prior to that circuit being reconnected to any new consumer unit/distribution board. Any costs for such work are not included, and will be charged on and above the original quotation given. Such issues will be brought to the client’s attention as soon as is practical during works.


2.         Exclusions:

  1. ROCK POINT ELECTRICAL SOLUTIONS Ltd will not accept liability for any loss arising from the de-energisation of the installation, accidental or pre-planned, such as the operation of safety systems (RCD’s/AFDD’s) or the relevant circuit protective device.

  2. Clearing and / or moving of furniture and other items blocking access to work areas are not included.

  3. Whilst ROCK POINT ELECTRICAL SOLUTIONS Ltd will try and ensure that electrical items are plugged back in and in working order before we leave the premises, we will not be held responsible for any losses due to any electrical item not being plugged back in and / or switched on.

  4. Except where detailed, builders work (creating of holes larger than 50mm diameter, creating of support structures, etc) are not included, except as outlined in 1f, g and h above.

  5. Re-decoration and final making good is excluded from quoted costs, unless specifically detailed as included.

  6. Removal from site and disposal of rubble, materials, general waste and packaging is not included. ROCK POINT ELECTRICAL SOLUTIONS Ltd may remove old fittings and wiring for disposal, at our discretion.


3.         Extras and Variations:

(a)  All extras and variations must be agreed in writing prior to commencement.


4.         Pricing:

  1. The costs quoted assume continuous and unhindered access to the site by prior arrangement with the client.

  2. Unless stated otherwise, the costs quoted assume standard working hours between the hours of 08:00 hrs - 18:00 hrs Monday to Friday inclusive. Work required outside these hours may attract out of hours premium rates. All work conducted on public holidays will be charged at double the standard rate.

  3. Any additional work not covered in our quoted costs will attract additional time charge rate of £(30) per hour plus materials cost and VAT (if applicable).

  4. All figures quoted are subject to VAT (if applicable) at the prevailing rate.

  5. All figures quoted are valid for a date of 30 days from the date of the estimate or quotation.


5.         Deviations from Building Regulations and BS7671 (as year of issue)

(a)  All work where applicable, will be executed fully in compliance with applicable Building Regulations and BS7671, as amended, in force at the time of the work, particularly in respect of work in dwellings to allow the legal Part P obligations to be met. Where a Client requires deviation from such regulations, a written instruction and record will be required.


6.         Risk and Title of Goods:

  1. The risk in all goods supplied shall pass to the Client upon delivery.

  2. All goods supplied shall remain property of ROCK POINT ELECTRICAL SOLUTIONS Ltd until all sums due have been paid in full.


7.         Warrantee:

  1. ROCK POINT ELECTRICAL SOLUTIONS Ltd warrants its installation work to be defect free for a period of twelve months from invoice date. Such cover does not extend to goods not supplied by (ROCK POINT ELECTRICAL SOLUTIONS Ltd), physical damage to products, or any instance where the original installation has been altered or tampered with subsequently by third parties.

  2. The warranty also excludes fair wear and tear, lamps, fuses or other consumables

  3. Where projects involve works by third party trades, any damage to the electrical installation by third parties shall remain the responsibility of the Client. Any rectification costs must be paid by the Client prior to any further works commencing. Recovery of such costs from any third party shall be the Clients responsibility.

  4. Any equipment which is fitted with a security/tamper seal, which is broken/tampered with will void any warranty.

  5. ROCK POINT ELECTRICAL SOLUTIONS Ltd will also provide a statutory grantee, which will be prescribed by the Competent Persons Scheme that the company were registered with at the time of install. 


8.         Payment:

  1. Unless agreed in writing, payment in full should be made on completion of the specified works, to ROCK POINT ELECTRICAL SOLUTIONS Ltd

  2. Larger projects may require a non-refundable deposit before work, as stated in the estimate (if applicable)

  3. Where projects involve separate first and second fix works, part payment may be due on completion of first fix (see quote for more details)

  4. Payment is accepted by cash, bank transfer or cheque, or debit / credit card

  5. In the event of any non-payment ROCK POINT ELECTRICAL SOLUTIONS Ltd reserve the right to withhold any certificates for work carried out until such payments are made and may seek an independent debt recovery agent to assist if necessary.

Please note any NON-electronic form of payment will incur an additional cost. Due to banks charging for cash or cheque deposits we will need to pass these costs on. All electronic forms of payment do NOT incur an additional cost..
